Privacy policy
This explains what we collect, why, and how to make us stop. Written to be read, not to be skipped.
If you're a pet owner
When you request or book an appointment we collect your name, phone number, and optionally your email, your pet's name and species, and whatever you write in the notes box. We use it for one thing: arranging that appointment. We pass it to the vet you chose, because they need it to see you. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.
Please don't put anything in the notes box you wouldn't want the vet to read — it goes straight to them.
If you're a veterinarian
Some listings on this site were compiled from publicly available directories before the vet joined us. That means your name, clinic, area and contact details may appear here without you having signed up. We only ever republish information that was already public somewhere else.
You can have it removed. Email hello@docforpets.com or use the “report this listing” link on your profile. We take it down. We won't argue, and we won't call you to change your mind.
If you claim your profile, we also store the email you sign in with and the details you enter yourself, and we keep a record of which of your bookings came through us.
What we don't do
- We don't take payments, so we never see or store card or bank details.
- We don't sell or rent personal data to anyone.
- We don't run advertising trackers or sell profiles to advertisers.
Where your data lives
Our database is hosted with Supabase in their Mumbai region, so data stays in India. Our website runs on Vercel. Transactional email is sent through Resend.
How long we keep it
Booking and enquiry records are kept while they're useful for arranging and following up care, and deleted on request. Ask us to delete your data and we will, unless we're legally required to keep it.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to erase it. Email hello@docforpets.com and we'll respond within a reasonable period.
Cookies
We only set cookies that keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies on this site, which is why you aren't seeing a consent banner.
